The miscues have been varied, as have the reasons for them. The overriding reason tight ends have had such overwhelming success against the Chargers is that the Chargers have let them.

What are the chances the Norv will finally start working Hester and Naanee into the games? Does Norv know how to run a ball control offense? Rivers is always throwing way downfield. Norv is asking too much of Rivers. In Pitt I blame Norv for the safty and the 2nd int. Rivers should have been throwing quick slants, not looking downfield in those situations. - -- Steve C, El Cajon, ca.

Once they're out of it, I think we'll see Hester and Naanee a little more. A little. When did you want Norv to run a ball control offense this year? When he's needed to/had the chance, he has. Maybe he is asking too much of Rivers, but I don't think so. Philip needed to get rid of that ball quicker. He throws a quick slant, you call it a give-up play, probably. And the second interception could never be pinned on Norv. It was simply a bad throw. That should have been a touchdown. - -- Kevin Acee

The Chargers rank 24th with six interceptions and are last in yards allowed with 242.6 per game. Seems like easy pickings for Manning, right? He’s not so sure.

I'd say it doesn't matter to me whether gamblers lost more than $30 million because of an officiating screw-up Sunday in the Steelers-Chargers game -- but that would be a lie. It does matter to me. I love it.
