SAN FRANCISCO – Separate shootings in San Francisco during the night have left one person dead and four others wounded.

Police say in the first of two shootings Thursday night, a gunman opened fire on two people who were sitting in a car in the city's Mission District, with a four-year-old child in the back seat.

The two adults were wounded, and were taken to San Francisco General Hospital. The child was unhurt.

In the second shooting, three people were shot in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood.

One person was killed. Police say the other two were taken to San Francisco General, one with critical injuries and the other with nonlife-threatening injuries.
