LAKE FOREST – A 14-month-old girl in Lake Forest was accidentally run over and killed by her father as he backed out of their driveway.

Authorities are calling the incident a tragic accident.

Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino says the toddler, Dalia Rodriguez, escaped unnoticed from the family's home while her father was getting ready to leave Thursday.

The little girl slipped behind the van where she was hit. The toddler was taken to Saddleback Hospital in Laguna Hills, where was she was pronounced dead 10 minutes later.
