Man killed in Torrey Pines bluff collapse: TORREY PINES STATE BEACH – A 57-year-old tourist from Henderson, Nev., who was spending a sunny day at the beach with his brother and nephew was killed Wednesday when a small section of the cliffs above him gave way, sending down a shower of sand and boulders that partially buried him, authorities said. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was struck in the head around 1:20 p.m. by boulders described as being the size of basketballs and larger, according to firefighters at the scene.
